I think that you are correct on the flow as I believe that the line hooked to the coolant bypass from the pump goes to the core. One of the hoses should have a flow reducer in it and that is the direction that the coolant flows to the core.

engine's water jackets to continue the cooling process. On the sides of the engine are "freeze" or "expansion" plugs, which are sheet metal plugs pressed into a series of holes in the block. These are designed to hold the pressure of the cooling system, but to pop out if the coolant in the block ever freezes. The Heater Core The last we heard from Ford technician and YouTuber Ford Tech Makuloco, he was showing us an inexpensive way to fix and prevent a common rearview camera problem with 2011-2019 Ford Explorer models. Now, he’s back with yet another informative video, this time discussing a coolant leak issue that’s common with 2011-2021 Ford F-150 models equipped with FoMoCo’s 5.0L Coyote V8. Flow is achieved through extensive computational flow dynamics (per Ford) and thoughtful engine architecture. This is a revised cooling approach called cross-flow cooling. The older 4.6L and 5.4L Modulars are series cooled, with coolant rising from the block into the back of the head, then flowing forward through the head and out into an ...

Here are two examples of small-block Ford water pumps. On the left is a right-hand inlet water pump for the 221/260/289/302 prior to 1970. The cooling system operates as follows: l Coolant flows through the radiator tubes and is cooled by air passing over the cooling fins assisted by the cooling fan motor and fan blades. l Coolant is then circulated from the radiator outlet tank (8054) through the water pump (8501) and into the cylinder block (6010) to complete the circuit.

Ice covering Beaufort Sea near the Arctic Ocean typically reaches full-blown breakup by late May each year as air and water temperatures warm, and as daylight turns longer. But 2016 has been dramatically different. This year, significant breakup and fracturing of the sea ice had occurred by mid-April, as seen in these Landsat 8 images acquired almost exactly a year apart. On April 13, 2015, the ice is largely intact, though fracturing has begun. A year later, on April 15, 2016, much more open water is visible.
